My adventure as a fisherman

Well after my fun weekend at the Ipswich V8's with Terry & Vicki, Terry threw me onboard his prawn boat for his very last trip as a commercial fisherman as he had just sold his trawler after 36 years of prawn fishing.
Luckily I packed a good stash of gum leaves, cause there was not a gum tree in sight out there....just water, dolphins, whales, seagulls, fish & prawns.
We were going out for a couple of weeks but the weather was really crappy & I wasn't feeling very well & it was the end of the prawn season so we only did a few nights and came back into port.
As the new crew I got to steer the boat help with the nets, sort the prawns, cook the prawns & got to eat some too. They were OK but I think I'll stick to the gum leaves......Terry even gave me my own set of wet weather gear to wear so i didn't get my fur wet, I got really excited when he told me he had GUM boots for me.....I had a taste and ya might as well have chewed on a rubber boot...hehehehe
We came into port at Mooloolaba and unloaded the last catch, cleaned up the boat and handed it over to the new owners, then Terry, Vicki & I retired from fishing and jumped in their Winnebago and headed off on a well deserved trip. They took me to Casino for a week then down to Evans Head for a week then back to their place for a week and we then headed north on another adventure.....we went to Paradise Dam, Calliope River Rest Area, Boynedale Bush Camp, Yeppoon, Bowen, Groper Creek back down to St Lawrence, Lake Monduran then down the inland road back to Bli Bli.
We are resting back at Terry & Vicki's place before heading off again next week, down south to catch up with Jess & Kim then further down to pick up with Graham & Ann and then convoy with them all onto the Nagambie Xmas party where I will jump ship and hitch a ride with someone else and see what other adventures lie ahead of me.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Xmas party and share a beer & gum leaf with all.
